Indiecrowdfund’s mission is to change the landscape of the Indie comic market to be able to put books in the hands of fans and retailers in the quickest and most efficent way possible. We take pride in the fact that we have cultivated relationships with some of the top Indie comic publishers and know many of them personally. It is our goal to thoroughly vet each and every campaign that comes through our platform to ensure that all campaigns are successful completed and fulfilled.
Transparency and communication
Do the research
The comic industry is a very small community, chances are, you already know or are familiar with the person or persons launching the campaign and that’s why you are here! But sometimes you may run onto a cool project where you are not familiar with the campaign creator. In that case we always advise that you do your research before pledging to support any campaign. While we do our best to ensure the integrity of the platform, like in life, not all things are guaranteed.
Stay up-to-date with campaigns that you’ve backed by asking questions. You can and are encouraged to communicate with the campaigner at any time through a direct message or comment on the campaign page. Comments are a great way to follow feedback and Q&As between the campaign owner and other backers throughout the campaign’s progress.
If something looks wrong to you, tell us! We encourage our community to report suspicious activity and voice concerns via the Contact Us page. Keep in mind though is isn’t a link to click if you have any personal or political concerns over any of the campaign creators or their content.
Paint the full picture
Provide confidence for backing your project by including detailed information about your team, qualifications, and track record. Don’t be afraid to be truthful about the risks and challenges. The more information you provide upfront, the more potential backers will understand that you’re trustworthy and committed to seeing your campaign out.
Keep everyone informed of your progress or setbacks through commenting, direct communication and frequent updates. Monthly substantive updates are required. Engaging and interacting with backers will help establish trust, while a lack of communication may result in backers losing faith, leaving bad feedback, requesting a refund, or even making a credit card chargeback.
Prepare for launch
If you are ready for a successful campaign make sure you double check that you are ready to go. It’s always a good idea to announce your campaign through your social media platforms as well as any other online channels you may have. A good ad campaign never hurts either!
