  Flatfoot McGee
   The Ducktective
Welcome to the fast-paced, exciting world of Flatfoot McGee. It includes danger, suspense, and more cartoony wackiness than you can shake a herring at. Flatfoot McGee is a fun romp through a nor-inspired cartoon landscape. It is a pastiche of all my favorite things, from 1950's radio dramas to Dick Tracy and the Spirit, while also being a love letter to the golden age of animation. This trade paperback is 108 pages long and contains the first three full-length issues - the first issue being a 48-page, oversized issue, and the second and third each coming in at 28 pages. Every issue is a complete story, with a beginning, middle, and end. I wanted every single issue of Flatfoot McGee to be a stand alone. This volume is completely different from anything else on the market today.
The ART
Every page was hand drawn with non-photo blue pencils, then inked over with a brush. After the inks dried, I scanned the pages and printed out the clean inks on watercolor paper where every page was then hand painted. If you buy any of the original art, you will get an 11 x 17 pencil with inks and an 8.5 X 11 painting of the same page. I wanted the book to feel like a classic cartoon when all the backgrounds were hand-painted. I wanted there to be texture and grit that the old funny animal books from the 50's didn't have. Every page is a mix of inks and watercolors.
The History
I published the first black-and-white short story of Flatfoot McGee back in 2009. I've been living with this character and world for a long time, and I am incredibly proud of this volume. My little Flatfoot has come a long way since that first short story. Unlike those early shorts, his world has become more real, his supporting cast has been fleshed out, and I am a much better artist then I was in 2009.
Delivery
Estimated delivery of the trade itself is still at the printers, but I currently have all other books in my possession. The book is finished! If we still have a post office, and there are no more major COVID shutdowns – my printer is in Florida - you should have your books by no later than November. I am only shipping books to America and Canada however Id be willing to figure out international shipping.
